Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is a non-sequitur

The non-sequitur, a logical flaw which consists of two or more parts which have nothing to do with each other, is often considered to be characteristic of people who don’t think too good. We assume it is sort of accidental. In fact, the non-sequitur is a favorite tool of deceivers. They use it to throw people off track, cause befuddlement, so they don’t notice they are being taken for a ride. The current “Tax Cuts and Jobs” bill coming out of the House Ways and Means Committee is a good example. Tax cuts and jobs have nothing to do with each other.

Wherein lies the deception?  Where to begin?

Federal taxes are designed to return (as revenue) dollars to the Treasury (whence they originate) for accounting and redistribution purposes.

Congress is tasked in the Constitution with distributing currency into the country to compensate for the goods and services necessary to provide for the general welfare.

Not collecting and not spending do not provide for the general welfare and do not create jobs. However, not doing is characteristic of lazy and/or incompetent people.

On Capitol Hill, the preference for seniors has resulted in the Ways and Means Committee being stacked with incompetents who have managed to keep themselves in office by currying the favor of employers in their districts — employers who threaten workers with job loss, if they don’t vote right.

Triangulation, where one group calls the shots and another carries them out is what the Republican cohort on the Ways and Means Committee is about.

Who are they?  Whom will we have the opportunity to replace in 2018?  Keep in mind that we only have to flip 23 Republican held slots to gain the majority in the House. Since the Dude had no coattails in 2016, Republicans lost 9. It is desperation time for the 23 on Ways and Means…………

These are the majority of the House Ways and Means committee:
Kevin Brady (TX)
Sam Johnson (TX)
Devin Nunes (CA)
Pat Tiberi (OH)
Dave Reichert (WA)
Peter Roskam (IL)
Vern Buchanan (FL)
Adrian Smith (NE)
Lynn Jenkins (KS)
Erik Paulsen (MN)
Kenny Marchant (TX)
Diane Black (TN)
Tom Reed (NY)
Mike Kelly (PA)
Jim Renacci (OH)
Pat Meehan (PA)
Kristi Noem (SD)
George Holding (NC)
Jason Smith (MO)
Tom Rice (SC)
David Schweikert (AZ)
