Today’s offering by the Lincoln Project is addressed to Conservatives. Though, I am not sure they are entitled to claim serving the country and following the Constitution as singular virtues.
And the rule of law is problematic because it shifts responsibility for decision-making to statutes that are constantly being changed and not for the better. Indeed, whenever a court supports some obnoxious Trumpian directive, it is because Congress has authorized the behavior with a law. Keeping children in cages is not illegal for the simple reason that the law designates them as abandoned property.
