This email came to me purportedly from Dailykos. Does that mean my email, which is hidden, has been sold?

Monica, the President has a constitutional responsibility to nominate justices to the Supreme Court, with the advice and consent of the Senate.
When he named Judge Merrick Garland as his nominee, President Obama met his responsibility.

Now it's up to members of the Senate to meet theirs.

Join me today and tell Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans to give Judge Garland a full and fair hearing, followed by a vote.

The Senate's obligation to hold hearings on Supreme Court nominees doesn't go away in an election year. And it has nothing to do with whether the President is a Democrat or a Republican.

Senate Republicans have almost a full year to consider and confirm Judge Garland. That's plenty of time. It's never taken more than 125 days to vote on a Supreme Court nominee before. So Senate Republicans should stop blocking the process, and start doing their jobs.

That's what the American people deserve. It's what our Constitution demands. And with millions of people’s lives in the balance, anything less is entirely unacceptable.

Sign the petition to tell Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans to quit playing politics and start doing their jobs.

Thanks,

Hillary

Wonder how much each “live” address is worth. The direct mail people used to charge 5 cents per use.

Looks like maybe somebody’s getting desperate since the DNC list isn’t generating a response.

While I’m bothering with a diary, which I haven’t done in a long time, let me point out that, if Democrats are serious about reforming the U.S. Senate, then Georgia is a good place to start.

Even though Johnny Isakson had earlier indicated he’d retire, he’s now changed his mind and, wonder of wonders, has to run in a primary because, in addition to four Democrats on the ballot, there are two other Republicans. So, we’re going to have a lively primary election on May 24 and maybe a run-off in July. And don’t forget, Georgia primaries are open. So Democrats can pull a Republican ballot and vote for either Derrick Grayson or Mary Kay Bacallao to knock Isakson out at the gate.

Even though four Democrats are on the ballot, the press is only talking about Jim Barksdale, who hasn’t collected enough money for their liking. Barksdale is a businessman who, unlike all the other candidates, doesn’t have a web site.

Keep in mind that every hire is a crap shoot. We know the incumbent is a dud, so any one of the other half dozen is bound to be better.
