Yesterday, a goodly number of citizens turned out to hear from a legal person what our options are for calling the elected officials to account.
What it boils down to is that
1) The Sea Island corporation has never been turned down for anything
2) Following due process is not our elected officials' forte.
Finally, it turns out it's not just the wildlife (144 specied of birds in addition to loggerhead turtles) that need someone to speak for them. The human residents of Sea Island, some 500 households, feel bullied by their home-owners' association and rather routinely lied to.
Seems that not all the residents of a gated enclave are segregated by choice. But, so far, their objections are muted, barely daring to question the "self-monitoring" their "leaders" engage in.
